Written in Finch’ has three adventure stories about a best-selling author Goldie Finch.‘Midnight in the Solarium’: Goldie throws a weekend party, inviting her best friends. It takes place as the manor house she built in Holland, Michigan. The first morning the body of the chef is found in the solarium. Goldie and her guests are confined at the manor house by the local detectives. Goldie and the detectives set out to find the murder and find that not everyone is who they have represented themselves to be.‘Pieces of Eight’: Goldie takes a trip to Key West to visit her long-time friends Hildy and Gun. The trip for Goldie is to do research about treasure hunting old ship wrecks, especially the Atocha’ off the coast of the small tropical island as well as spending time on the yacht with her friends. To her surprise they do find treasure. The treasure found puts them in the path of a modern-day pirate who will do anything, including murder, to get their hands on it.‘Palo Cortado’: Following their adventure in Key West (Goldie, Hildy and Gun) take a trip to Barcelona, Spain. They meeting some interesting people as they sight see around the city. First, they meet and old matador that owns a vineyard on the outskirts of the city. Then they sigh up for flamenco dancing lesson and become friend with the owner of the dance studio. Outside the Gaudi cathedral, a local artist befriends them and shares lunch in the park. Goldie invites their three new friends to a dinner on their final weekend in Barcelona and well all I can says is it was not the dinner that Goldie had dreamed it would be. Read more
